About
Media intelligence for embassies, UN agencies, NGOs, and businesses operating in Timor-Leste.

Founded by
Asp Consulting · Dili, Timor-Leste
Antonio Sampaio has covered Timor-Leste for over 35 years, reporting on the country's key moments from 1990 — through the period before the independence referendum, as the first foreign journalist permanently based in Dili, and as the country took its first steps after restoring independence — and ever since.
He built Timor Monitor because the organizations operating here — embassies, UN agencies, NGOs, and businesses — as well as anyone interested in the country, here and abroad, all face the same problem: critical media coverage is scattered across 49 outlets in four languages, and no one has time to read it all. This platform automates the media intelligence work Antonio has done manually for decades — making it easier for you to know what is going on.
